October 21, 1935 – November 15, 2012
Albert L. Givan of Richmond MN, formerly of Rochester, passed away on November 15 th at Koronis Manor in Paynesville MN. Services will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester at 6:00pm on Monday with Rev. Linda Helberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Albert was the owner and operator of the North Broadway Barber Shop in Rochester for over 45 years. He was know for his flat top cut as a barber. He also was an auctioneer. Albert had many passions in his life, which included the love for beautiful flowers. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and his great love for his dogs. There was never a Nascar race that he ever missed. He also was a huge fan of the local stock car track in Kasson MN. He also in his younger days enjoyed kicking up his heels to a country western song. He lived his life as one big party. He was also a member of the Stewartville American Legion and the Stewartville Sportsmans club. He was known as the "Chuck a Luck" guy at the annual Sportsman fund raiser. Albert also served his country in the Army from 1958-1960 in the Artillery division.
He was survived by his son Albert (Jeff) (Lori )Givan, grandchildren Chelsie Givan, Chase Givan, Cherice (Justin) Vogel and Great grand daughter Isabella. Daughter Connie (Peter) Biaggio, grandchildren Annie (Pete) Moore, Tony (Brandi) Biaggio, Christina Biaggio. Great grandchildren Jackson, Gianna, Makenna, Quintin. Daughter Brenda (Jay) Van Wert, children Jason, Joel and Justin Van Wert. Sister Lois Ostrander. Cousin Larry (Audrey) Carmichael.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Albert Ruben & Elpha Givan and infant sister Ellen Pearl Givan.
