Abel Moreno
Talamantes
September 29, 1942 – April 19, 2026
Abel Moreno Talamantes, Sr.
In Loving Memory and Eternal Rest
With sorrowful hearts and abiding faith, we announce that Abel was called home to the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Beloved husband, devoted father, and faithful friend, Abel lived his life guided by compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith. He touched all who knew him with his gentle spirit and steadfast hope.
Abel was born on September 29, 1942, to Eucebio and Hilaria (Moreno) Talamantes, in Hoyt, Texas. Abel moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota in October of 1967 where he worked until 1990. He and Leah Ann moved to Rochester, Minnesota while he worked for IBM. He decided he wanted to start a business of his own, so they created and operated the Alpha omegA Driving School in Owatonna for 14 years before moving back to Rochester, Minnesota in 2011. During his time in Rochester, he faithfully attended the Rochester Pentecostal Church and was active in the music department, teaching Spanish language Home Bible studies and bringing God's word to the Spanish speaking people of the community.
He is survived by his loving wife, Leah Ann, his children, Abel Talamantes Jr (Lupita), Steve Talamantes (Kelly), Ray Talamantes, Angela Hong, Christopher Talamantes, Jose (Joe) Talamantes, Nick Talamantes, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings Josue (Phyllis); Eliazar (Mary) Talamantes, Abigail (Pete) Peña; Ray (Alma) Talamantes, David Talamantes and many nieces and nephews.
While his absence leaves a void, we rejoice in the promise that his soul rests peacefully in the presence of Jesus. He served our Savior with his entire being, remaining faithful and obedient to His Word. His memory and legacy continue within the hearts of those blessed to have shared his journey.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at the church he attended for most of the past 36 years, Rochester Pentecostal Church, 3657 Sheffield Lane SE, Rochester, MN 55904 with Pastor Robert Kaske officiating the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Cake and Coffee will be served before the burial in Oakwood East Cemetery, 3681 Viola Road NE, Rochester, MN 55906.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Rochester Pentecostal Church in his honor.
